School Meals

Find out about our School Meals from here ......

As you are aware, every pupil in Reception, Year 1 and 2 are eligible for free school meals.  Our appointed caterers are called TaylorShaw and the food is prepared in the kitchen at Whiteheath Junior School and brought to Warrender every day. We also offer school meals to junior pupils at a cost of £2.10 per day.

TaylorShaw run a three week rolling menu, with three choices of main meal each day. We have the whole ordering system online - meaning that you can access the menus and make your food selection via ParentPay

Meat will routinely be non-Halal; the menus have a separate section if you wish to choose the Halal option the choice will be displayed with (H).

If your child has an allergy or intolerance to any food, you must provide a medical certificate from your doctor and send this certificate to Lorna Bell at TaylorShaw, Unit 9, Southwest Centre, Troutbeck Road, Sheffield, S7 2QA, so that they are fully prepared.  Please provide Mrs Sampson with a copy of that certificate. A photograph of your child will be supplied to TaylorShaw so that all staff can help ensure that your child receives the appropriate meals.

How Parents Make Bookings

  1. Log in to Parentpay @ www.parentpay.com and activate your account via the account log in area on the homepage of the site.  Use the activation details sent home via your child’s book bag.
  2. Once logged in, click on your child’s name then click the bookings tab then click on Make or view bookings and check that the tab Week commencing is set to the week that you wish to make your booking for.   At present, bookings can be made up October half-term.  The meals appear on a three week rolling cycle.
  3. You should now be able to see the menu for the selected week.  Click on the meal you wish to pick and it will turn green on the screen.  There is no need to select vegetables or deserts as these are picked by the children on the day.  Scroll down the page to confirm your booking for that week.
  4. It is a good idea to keep a copy of your choices so you can let your child know in advance what they will be eating and also as a record should you discover your child does not like a certain meal as you can pick a different option when the meal appears as a choice again.

Bookings can be made up to 12 midnight on the day before they will be consumed.  Please note that the office cannot make late bookings.  If you have not made a booking by the cut of time, you will need to provide your child with a packed lunch.  If your child does not have a hot lunch selected or have a packed lunch with them in school you will be contacted and asked to bring one into school for them.

If you experience any problems with any of the above instructions, please do not hesitate to contact the school or pop in to the school office and we will be pleased to help.
