Happy Friday all! We have made it to the very last day of remote learning- well done, you have all been fantastic!
Below are your lessons and activities for today. As always, please use some time this afternoon to do any of the foundation topic activities that you haven't yet had the chance to do (found on previous page) or enjoy going out for a walk with your family.
Purple Mash Reading:
The new story for this week on Purple Mash is called ‘Anna and the Third Leaf’. Please read chapter 5 and complete the story sequencing activity after. Feel free to read this chapter to your child and then encourage them to complete the activity as independently as possible.
Today, I would like you to play these two phonics games.
Alien Phonics game- Odd and Bob - When you open the game, click revise all.
Read the word that flies down from the spaceship- use your phonics and sound it out. Is this a real word or an alien word? Move it to 'fake' or 'real'.
Alien Escape game- Using your Fred fingers and Fred talk, sound out the word and move the letters to spell it correctly. Think about your special friends. Can you move the alien to the top?
In today's lesson we will be reading the rest of our story "Toys in Space" and then completing a book review on it. If you have the book at home please read the story to the end or if listening to Ms Fidler reading it please start at 4:37 and listen until the end - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jim9248x-1s If you would prefer to read or listen to the story from the start right through to the end then this is also fine.
The book review worksheet is saved below, it asks the children to give the book a star rating out of 5 and also asks them to think about what they liked or disliked in the story. If you are unable to print please just create your own version of this onto some lined paper or in an exercise book.
In today’s lesson, the children will be subtracting lengths from one another. Please watch the White Rose lesson video and pause it to answer the questions on the worksheet at the appropriate times. The children may need to use subtraction strategies that we have previously learnt to subtract the numbers. They could use a number line to 20, tens frame, fingers or objects such as lego bricks, dried pasta, grapes to help them.
Have a lovely weekend all. I'm looking forward to seeing you on Monday!
