Goodmorning Holly and Hazel Class
I hope you all had a lovely half term and had a chance to enjoy the outdoors and see the new signs of life emerging as spring is approaching.
This week we will be looking at spring and looking out for the signs of new life in the world around us with plants and animals.
Today and throughout the week we will look at signs of spring. Watch Mrs Zammattio's PowerPoint lesson about spring then listen and watch a lovely song about spring. Afterwards, go on a spring hunt and have a walk around your local area and spot the signs of spring using the fun sheet to tick off what changes you see in the environment.
In maths, we are going to be looking at subitising this week. Subitising is the ability to look at a small number of objects and instantly recognise how many there are without needing to count. This is a really important skill to learn in early maths development in young children and important to develop and practise. Please see the parent's guide that I have added to maths resources on ways to help with your child's learning. Watch the fun and play the interactive Superhero PowerPoint on subitising.
Today in phonics we are going to play speedy sounds and practise the sounds we have learnt so far and practise writing the sounds in the correct pre-cursive writing. There is also a spring pencil control activity to help with fine motor skills and pencil control development.
We will continue to follow the school timetable including activities in Maths, English, Creative and Physical for you to complete. Plus some optional fun additional activities.
