The 2 pieces of work you need to submit today are:

 

1 -  English; your conversation between Oliver and Mr Brownlow using correct speech punctuation 

 

2 -  Science; your poster on advising elderly people how to stay fit and healthy

English - 

 

1 - Read Chapter 14 of Oliver Twist on the PowerPoint, than write a conversation  between Oliver and Mr Brownlow, applying all the rules of speech punctuation that you have learnt this week.  There is an introduction from Mrs Close on the first slide.

2.  Read chapter 2 of Pit Boys on Purple Mash and complete the online quiz.  

 

Maths -  Group 1

 

 1 - Watch the video and answer questions on 'Area of irregular shapes’, pause the video and have a go at each question. Don't forget to tick & Fix your work. 

 

2 - Tomorrow you will complete an end of topic test on Area and Perimeter, use this as an opportunity to have a look over your maths questions that you have completed so far.

2 - Tomorrow you will complete an end of topic test on Length and Perimeter, use this as an opportunity to have a look over your maths questions that you have completed so far. 

 

Science - what happens as we get older?

 

Before you start the lesson, access the bbc link below to learn about cells in the body. 

Work through the PowerPoint looking at the physical and mental changes to the body as it ages, there is an introduction to the lesson on the first slide. .  You will need a pencil and paper to complete the True and False activity.  You will also learn about what it was like to be old in Victorian times.  Your task is to create a poster aimed at older people, advising them how to stay fit and healthy.
