Wednesday 6th January

Good morning Hazel and Holly class.

I hope you all had a lovely day yesterday, learning to rhyme and managed to make some of your own rhyming words.

Today, we will be looking at our new topic People Who Help Us. Discuss with your grown-up who helps us and then watch the video. See if you guessed correctly some of the people who help us.

We are going to start with the Fire services please watch the PowerPoint to learn about their job.

Today in Literacy, I would like you to continue with rhyming words as this is an important stage to help with early reading.  Please watch the story of Fat cat on a mat. Encourage the children to finish the rhyme by pausing the video after each page.   Afterwards, complete the colour in rhyming worksheet to consolidate their learning of rhyme.

In Maths, I would like you to practise your counting and writing up to 10 on the Winter worksheet provided.  I have also included are number rhyme sheets to help you learn the correct formation of the numbers 1 to 10. The children enjoy repeating the rhyme and it helps them to remember how to form the numbers.

Tuesday is our rhyme and song sessions. Choose some songs and see if you can sing some of these classic Nursery rhymes and point out the rhyming words to an adult.  The Cbeebies Nursery rhyme link is below.

I have also included some optional fun activities and colouring pages linking to our topic Winter and Fire services.

Please send pictures of the work you have completed via the Dojo portfolio and I can award Dojos for this. Please message me if you have any questions.

Have a lovely Wednesday.

Mrs Zammattio.
