The role of sports captains at Warrender is to lead by example, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and encourage participation in sports and physical activities. Sport captains are usually chosen because they show leadership, responsibility and a strong interest in sports from our Year 6 children. 

Roles and responsibilities:

• Show good sportsmanship, team work and respect on and off the field
• Encourage others to be active
• Help organise and lead schools sport events, games and competitions
• motivate and support school teams during practice 
• Support younger children learn new games 
• Act as a role model and represent the school with pride at sporting events 
• Showing leadership during inter-school competitions or tournaments 
• Assist PE teachers with setting up equipment
