The INTENT of our Maths curriculum is to ensure all children ASPIRE to develop their mathematical skills to provide them with a foundation for understanding the world and develop their ability to reason mathematically!
It is our aim in Maths that all children:
- ACHIEVE by demonstrating a secure understanding in key areas of mathematics such as number and shape
- Demonstrate RESPECT for different approaches when problem solving
- Have a sense of PRIDE and ENJOYMENT when exploring the beauty and power of mathematics
- Be INSPIRED and persevere when solving more challenging mathematical problems
- Feel SUPPORTED through the use of concrete materials and pictorial strategies in grasping mathematically concepts
