The INTENT of our Art and Design curriculum is to provide children with opportunities to develop and extend skills and to express their individual interests, thoughts and ideas.

ASPIRE to be able to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design.

It is our aim in Art that all children:

• ACHIEVE by encouraging confidence approaching artwork, feel a strong sense of achievement, value the impact of art within our own lives and are able to reach their full potential;
• Are SUPPORTED, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design;
• Take PRIDE in displaying their work around the school;
• Produce creative work that INSPIRE, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences;
• RESPECT and know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms;
• ENJOY the ability to develop individual creativity, express ideas and understanding and work both individually and collaboratively with others.
