Welcome back for the Summer Term - a really action packed one as we celebrate the forthcoming Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics. Well done to everyone for a busy and successful whole-school Eco-Week. I witnessed some very creative work and a lot of excellent learning during the week. We collected an enormous pile of clothing for the “Phil the Bag” scheme. Paul Lake - Headteacher ============================================== NEWS ROUND-UPDates for the Diary: Term starts (17 Apr), Whole School Photo (2 May), Y3/4/5 Assessments & Y6 SATs (14-18 May), Olympic Week (21-25 May) FOW - As a thank you for all your support this year, we are pleased to announce that the FOW will fund a school trip to the Tower of London for all pupils in Reception through to Y6 on 26/27/28 June. Arrangements for Nursery children to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee are being finalised. We felt they were too young to be included on this trip. Next FOW event: Spring Fair on Sat 26th May. If you can volunteer help in any way please contact the committee via your class rep. If you would still like a paper copy, just ask at the office. All newsletters will continue to be posted here as well. Feedback from the Phonics Evening for Parents and Carers was very positive. Thank you to all who helped and attended the evening. One of the resources we promoted at the meeting was the Oxford Owl website (www.oxfordowl.co.uk): this is packed with reading ideas and activities for children of all ages and abilities, plus lots of useful information for parents. To mark St David’s Day we celebrated pupil participation in uniformed community clubs i.e. Cubs, Brownies, Rainbows, Beavers, Girls’ and Boys Brigade etc. If your child is interested in joining a local non-school club, read our Extended Schools section for more info. The Hungry Caterpillar pre and after school club operates from its base at the School every weekday during term time. Ofsted judges Warrender a Good School - following our Ofsted inspection last November we have been graded “Good” in every category with “Outstanding” judgements for children adopting healthy lifestyles, feeling safe and for their attendance.
