Good Morning,

 

It was lovely to see so many of you yesterday and that you already knew a few things about Tudor times. I hope you enjoyed the beginning of our new book, you will read the next instalment today. 

In maths, more work on adding fractions. You are also going to find out about Henry VIII and make notes about his life. Plus some ICT and PE today too.

 

Please upload your maths today.

 

Remember there are always additional tasks to do on Purple Mash, Mathletics and Bedrock.

English/History

Today you are going to find out a bit more about Henry VIII, the most famous Tudor king (and what life was like). Remember his father was Henry Tudor the first Tudor king, Henry VII. Listen to the audio clip and jot down information that you find out about Henry VIII. You can listen to it more than once. All the information is done in a fun way!

 

Make a note of the names of important figures and why they are important (don't worry if you are not sure how to spell them). Also note other information you find interesting. You are going to be making a fact file about him and his wives.

Henry VIII

Barney Harwood presents a whistle-stop tour of Henry VIII's reign through comic sketches. Among the themes that Barney touches on are: Henry's six wives and their various fates; his need for a male heir; the establishment of the Church of England; crime and punishment; food; health and medicine.

Maths

More work on adding fractions today. Remember using a bar model to draw your fractions may help you work out the answers. Watch the video and answer the worksheet. The PowerPoint from the video is below too.

ICT - The Turing Test

On Purple Mash, help mend the enigma machine at Bletchley during WW2. Make sure you watch the video before you attempt to mend the wires. It will give you some good hints.
