Mathematics - Practical Pictogram Task

Similar to Monday and in support of new learning around pictograms, today we would like you to create your own pictograms. You should aim to make at least two – again these can include people, toys or other data that you gather whilst on a walk as part of your daily allowance of outside exercise. Some examples of things that you could use to make pictograms:

  • Features at home: Make a pictogram based on the number of windows and door in your house or tables and chairs for example.
  • Food: Record different types of food in your cupboards, on your lunch/dinner plate or fridge.
  • Animals: Number of animals by type in your home or garden etc.
  • Toys: Create a pictogram based on your toys at home.
  • Transport: Making an observational record of modes of transport. This could be done through your window at home or during a walk, if appropriate.

We look forward to seeing what pictograms you make. Remember to upload these to your portfolio when you are finished and please use a ruler for making your charts - a splash of colour will help them look amazing! :)
