Reading 
Please listen to storytime led by Miss O'Shea or Mrs Morris. 

Can you make a cosy reading den ready for your storytime? 

Can you listen to your grown up reading you a story? Can you answer some comprehension questions about how the character may be feeling? Can you now retell the story?

Also, listen to some storytimes on Cbeebies. What was your favourite part of the story? You may be able to find some special Christmas stories to share with your family. 

PSHE
Listen to some relaxing music, close your eyes and breathe slowly. Touch your nose when breathing in and rainbow breath out. Hold your tummy this time... Feel your tummy getting bigger as you breathe out and smaller as you breathe in. You could show your family how we do our 'calm time' in PSHE. 

Search on YouTube Cosmic Yoga. Can you copy the Yoga teacher?  

This term, our new PSHE topic is Dreams and Goals.

This week we are celebrating people who stay motivated when doing something challenging. 

Try to complete a really difficult challenge like building a tower using only spaghetti and marshmallows or wooden bricks, build a tower from cards, a bowl of small objects e.g sequins and beads and only pick the sequins whilst blindfolded- you could send a video to your teacher! You could listen to the story ‘Giraffes can’t dance’ something the Giraffe struggles with at first.
How did you find that challenge? How did it make you feel?
Discuss how you could overcome them. If we were to do the challenges again, what could we do to help us achieve them? What sorts of things do we every day that are tricky? 

Draw a picture of something that you find difficult to do. Discuss with an adult what you could do to overcome it. Send a picture to your teacher once you have finished. If you would like to, you could write a sentence about your picture.
 

Phonics
Please watch the virtual Phonics lesson by Mrs Morris of recapping set 1 sounds (single sounds and some special friends.) Please watch the virtual Phonics lesson by Miss O'Shea teaching a new set 2 sound. We will be modelling how to read and write words and sentences.  

Can you practice your sounds and write some simple words? You could even go on a sound hunt around the house! Focus on some special friends that you may find tricky too.

You could practice writing sentences at home. Remember to use your sounds to write your sentence. Sing our sentence song to remember that we need a capital letter and full stop.

Handwriting:
Please see our Phonics section on our class page. Can you practice your pre cursive writing? Be sure to say each formation rhyme as you write each letter. You could practice your pre cursive using colourful pens or with a paintbrush in sand or sugar or even glitter! Make sure to send a picture to your teacher.
