Tuesday 2nd Feb

02.02.2021:
Good morning,

Hope you are all doing well!

Please find attached some activities that we would have completed this Tuesday and also some activities linked to mental health.

Feel free to send pictures of the work you have completed and I can award Dojos for this. Please Dojo me if you have any questions.

I hope you have a lovely day,

Mental Health Daily Task:

As a family, can you create a 'Things to Look Forward to' jar...

Every time you wish you could do something, go somewhere, see someone you love, visit a new place, invite people to visit your household... Write it down on a post it note and put it in a jar.

When all of this is over, this will be your bucket list and you can work your way through the jar and you will be more grateful than ever for the little things in your lives! Until then you can enjoy watching the jar fill up with lovely things to look forward.

You could have a go at writing some of the things you would like to do or just drawing pictures of what you would like to do!

Literacy:
Please watch Mrs Morris' virtual lesson below. Today you will be imagining yourself as the Snail in the story the Snail and the Whale!
You are going to draw a picture of and write about where you would like to go if we were the snail with an itchy foot!
Please remember to use your phonics knowledge to write these words, this means the words do not have to be spelt completely correctly. For example, 'I wood lighk to go to a booteefol sunee beech' (I would like to go to a beautiful sunny beach.) As a challenge, you could write a few sentences describing your dream location and the reason why you would like to go 'beecos I lighk hot and sunee wether' (because I like hot and sunny weather.)

Creative:
This is a photograph of Henri Matisse...

Henri Matisse was a French artist and this is a collage he made below in 1953, which he called 'The Snail'.

Can you make your very own Matisse-inspired snail! Get creative with shapes and colours! Click the link for more ideas: https://www.tate.org.uk/kids/make/cut-paste/collage-matisse-snail Remember we learnt lots about patterns, shapes and colours last week which may help with your creation. You could use lots of coloured card or colour different sections of your snail in. Remember to sign your picture when you have finished just like Vashti did with her dot picture!

Phonics:

Watch the virtual Phonics lessons by Mrs Morris and Miss O'Shea. Please send your teacher any writing that you do in your Phonics lesson. These lessons can be found on the 'daily phonics' star on the previous page.

Please click the link for some free E Books your child could read.

ICT:
Please can you draw a picture of your favourite part of the Snail and the Whale story on a laptop/tablet/computer. Think carefully about the detail and colours to include. You can sign into Purple Mash, so that you can save your picture there and Miss O'Shea and Mrs Morris can award you with dojos!

02.02.2021 Where would you go if you were the Snail from the story?
