Wednesday 10th February 2021
I am looking forward to seeing those of you who can join our house chats today. Remember:
Mars - 1:45pm
Neptune - 2pm
Venus - 2:15pm
Today you will start planning your set of instructions. In maths, more work on consolidating our understanding of equivalent fractions. Plus a chance to create your own sound instrument (you can carry on with this for the rest of the week) and label a Viking warrior.
Plus another few chapters of our book.
Please upload your maths today.
See you later
Miss Spooner :)
Today you are going to plan your set of instructions (you will be writing them on Thursday and Friday). Have your list of ideas about what you might teach your dragon ready! Watch the video then come up with your initial ideas and put them in chronological order. The PowerPoint and examples are below the video.
Today you are going to practise recognising equivalent fractions. Watch the video to remind you what is meant by equivalent fractions and then choose which worksheet(s) you are going to do. There is a quiz to try on the second PowerPoint to have ago at too.
Science - create your own instrument
Using everything you have learnt about how sound is made (vibrations), how to change the pitch (high and low) and the volume (loud and soft) you are going to create an instrument. Use any recycled or 'junk' from home that you are allowed to create it. Take a picture/video of it when you have finished. Watch the video below to see how one group use junk to make their instruments.
Take your time, it doesn't need to be finished today.
Topic - History - Viking Warriors
You have learnt what good traders and explorers Vikings were but when you think of Vikings you also think of warriors. Use the BBC link below to help you label the warrior, explaining about his weapons and his armour. You What were the different things made of? How did he use them? There is a picture of the Viking in the worksheet below that you can use to label (or draw your own). Do you think women were warriors too?
You will need to scroll down the page to this section.
Two chapters to listen/read today, chapter 12 and 13.
