Good morning,

I hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready for another week of home learning. Instead of focusing on Julia Donaldson, this week we will be learning lots about different celebrations; Chinese New Year, Pancake Day and Valentines Day. Please watch the videos and open the documents below.

Enjoy your day,
Miss O'Shea and Mrs Morris

Writing Task:
Today we will be focusing on Chinese New Year. Please watch the three videos below all linked to Chinese New Year. Mrs Morris is reading the Chinese New Year story. For your writing task, you are going to be drawing a picture and writing about which animal represents the year you were born based on the Chinese Zodiac. Remember all the things that your sentences need; capital letters, full stops, finger spaces, looking carefully (rereading work) and representing sounds correctly (using your phonics knowledge and Fred fingers.)

There are also a few more optional Chinese New Year resources below if you would like to explore further.

Phonics:

Watch the virtual Phonics lessons by Mrs Morris and Miss O'Shea. Please send your teacher any writing that you do in your Phonics lesson. These lessons can be found on the 'daily phonics' star on the previous page.

Please click the link for some free E Books your child could read.
